Questions

Impact window FAQ

Do impact windows need a permit in Miami-Dade and Broward?

Yes. Replacing windows or exterior doors requires a building permit. We prepare the application with the product approvals, schedule the inspections and close the permit.

What is a Miami-Dade NOA?

A Notice of Acceptance is Miami-Dade County's approval for a product used in the High-Velocity Hurricane Zone, which covers Miami-Dade and Broward. We install products with the approvals your building department requires.

Can impact windows lower my insurance premium?

They can. Impact-rated openings may qualify for windstorm mitigation credits. After installation, a wind mitigation inspection documents them for your insurance company.

I live in a condo. Can I replace my windows?

Usually, with association approval. Most buildings require a specific product, color and installation method. We put together the approval package and follow the building's work rules.

How long does the process take?

Custom windows are ordered to your measurements, so lead times depend on the manufacturer. Your estimate includes a schedule for ordering, permitting and installation.

Is the consultation free?

Yes. We visit the property, measure the openings and give you a written estimate at no cost.
